What in the Plazes…?!

Yesterday I posted about Plurk.  Today, it’s Plazes, which appears to be another (yes, another) Twitter-like app but with a google maps mashup so you can geo-locate.

Probably the best thing about the site was the really cute movie of how Mario uses Plazes, which can be found on the front page under “Plazes in Action”… I hope the sleeping screen grab speaks for me and my own personal sentiments about the site.

*Yawn*

The worst thing?  The site is slow as molasses… and it only appears to have 10k members…?  If it even thinks about competing with Twitter or others, it better learn to scale with one-millionth of the subscriber base that Twitter has.

Cool concept, but I will not be using this service.
