JiLeeMusic.com launched this morning with some small fanfare, a whole lot of love, and a little bit of “Praise God we’re finally done”!
Ji, a good friend of ours who’s been over in the down under at Hillsong International Leadership College, has been trying to raise support for her schooling and living expenses and my wife thought we should try taking the effort online.
So she cooked up a website idea using paypal to make it easy to send one time support donations and yearly recurring payments…!
She took it even farther and thought through some online video devotionals using QuietTime.tv and scheduled in a few of her friends to post video support prayers and the like for our sister.
Unbelievable.
She’s a true web project manager in every sense of the word. Especially the “managing resources” part of it. As the brains behind the operation she needed the “operational” expertise to bring a website like this together… that was obvioiusly me.
But seeing her so passionate about launching a web site and going through the launch process with her was exciting, even staying up til 4 in the AM to help bang out last minute updates and design revision in Photoshop.
You see, for a moment, she had completely dived into a world which I live every day, and was able to experience the ups and downs, the frustrations and also the great exhilarating feeling of launching a web-based project.
And to that, I’m thankful.
It feels great when the person you love the most finally gets to share in one of your own personal interests, but not in the superficial and surface-level way.
Finally… right?
Now if I can only somehow convince her that sushi (the really really raw stuff) is some of the best food on the planet… then I’ll finally be complete.
*yawn*
But first I need a nap.
