A Couple That Twitters Together…

Sue finally got sucked up in the vacuum of twitter and registered an account.  (Go say hi and give her a follow!)

Thanks to @khfranklin and team for the peer pressure… I mean, gentle-encouragement-to-sign-up-for-another-ridiculous-time-bandit…!

But what struck me was that sue and I now have another medium which brings us together.  Hope beyond hope, will this make our marriage stronger?

For those couples that twitter together, has the resulting shared-activity been positive?

my wonderful wife @janastrickland and I both twitter. I’ve found it just as helpful in understanding her day as I found it for all of my co-workers. I think it helps bridge the gap of that possible 8 hours of silence without the “I just called to see what you were doing” – which is nice, but sometimes can come at a point when one of us is really busy.

I’ve had no luck getting my spouse on Twitter yet, so first congrats to you on that!

It took a long time to even get him on e-mail, but once he did actually start using it I do think it improved our communication. Little check-ins during the day, mundane stuff usually, help us stay connected without having to remember to ask or tell each other stuff in the evenings when we’re swamped with parenting duties.

    So, twitter away @mrsbear!

My husband and I both use Twitter all the time. Since we work, relax and live together, we tend to tweet about the same things. So we often ask each other who gets to post the tweet about our current activity. We share a number of the same followers, so we don’t want to spam them by both using Twitter to talk about the same thing. Funny, isn’t it?

We both Tweet during the day. It not only fills in the gaps and provides little insights into one another, it’s a way we can share anecdotes and stories.

kathy and i feel like we are passing notes in class.
we end up talking to each other more than posting what we are doing.
i think it is like a really sloooowwwww chat room full of all your friends.

I started twittering so I could follow David and his work family just to know more about his day. I can honestly say I am more prepared for what frame of mind he’s going to be in when he gets home because I follow him and those around him. In addition, it’s helped develop relationships with his coworkers that I wouldn’t have without twitter and facebook. I think twitter makes us more more of a team!
