Desktop Background December 2009 – What Are You Wearing?

december-09-twothousandten-calendar-1440x900

This month I’ve dressed my box up with this sweet background from SmashingMagazine. I’m not sure why I find this background so relevant…

Perhaps it’s because historically the winter season has always been a season of much work in addition to the holiday fun and festivities. Traveling, coding, seminary, money disappearing in rapid form (hence the piggy bank I imagine); it’s all there.

What are you dressing up your machine with for December 2009?

For the past few years, I've been rocking Digital Blasphemy's "The Ride" wallpaper during this time of year. (http://www.digitalblasphemy.com/preview.shtml?i=t...

I am using three different ones (switching every hour)

    you do that automatically?

  4. Brian Alexander December 1, 2009 at 1:52 PM #

Yea, it can automatically change. On your mac go to Desktop and Background in System Preferences and then make sure desktop is selected and you can choose a folder (or make a new one) with the images that you would like to use and then click the check and change every (hour, 15 mins, 5 secs. ect.) whatever you like.

For the time being, I've also gone for a Smashing Mag one: http://media.smashingmagazine.com/cdn_smash/wp-co... – probably because it's the only one that doesn't have snow! Just because I live in a country where the seasons are screwy and it's actually summer here right now, I don't need to be made jealous. :-)

I usually live with a wallpaper & end up changing it all the time, so it's probably the first of many this month.

I download all the Smashing Magazine wallpapers and rotate them throughout the month. Then start over on every 1st!

    You never disappoint John :)
Got mine yesterday and almost chose this one! But it looked a bit too Thanksgivingish with all the reddish burntish colors.
I had a hard time b/c we also don't get snow until maybe January or Feb if at all so I didn't want a snow one or a Santa one, I'd rather a Jesus one but they didn't have that. I chose the Seek Him one.

I was just rocking a Christmas theme, but now that I created this I am going to display it and motivate myself:
    http://mentormeproject.com/wp-content/uploads/200...

This gives the basic model of the mentor me project that I continue to work on and need the reminder as to why I am doing what I am doing. This is a good reminder when I start up my computer.
