‘I Like Content’ Wordpress Theme Release

ilikecontentwordpressthemebyhuman3rror1

Yes. The name is pretty lame.

That’s because I finished it at 1:00am in the morning on a Saturday and as I stared at it I thought: “Wow, I guess I really like showcasing blog content.”

So, I named it “I Like Content”.

But, hopefully you’ll find that it’s not that lame of a Wordpress Theme…!

you must be proud of it since you made a video tour too…
I don't find it special at all.. just another common wordpress theme

    • human3rror April 26, 2009 at 12:26 PM #

Thanks Mar. you're awesome. have a great day!

    • rodlie September 25, 2009 at 2:21 PM #

no reason to hate, dude…..just sounds childish.

  2. Graham Brenna April 26, 2009 at 1:34 PM #

    I like it! I might use it…

  3. Barry April 26, 2009 at 2:05 PM #

Mar – it's 'special' because h3r created it – by himself – just him and God. You don't have to create a 'unlike any other hamburger' to be successful… if passion creates it and it works – there is an important place for the creation, both in the creator's life and the user's life. Keep creating h3r. Take a long nap today Mar.

    Keep Rockin' John.

dude i'm loving your themes. Any chance you'd come up with something for Thesis :-) I mean you do push it pretty hard and you've got some skills in the design house (of which i lack mucho)….yea this is a selfish request but hey it's sprinkled with good intentions :-)

  6. Brian Alexander April 26, 2009 at 5:22 PM #

Too simple for me, but it's a nice design.

  7. Mar April 26, 2009 at 5:35 PM #

I don't want to sound harsh but honestly: I'd develop a theme like this one in 30 mins, starting from the default theme…

    • dewde April 27, 2009 at 2:26 AM #

I wouldn't mind checking out some of your themes. Throw me a link.

      peace|dewde

Wow Mar. I wish I was you!

  8. jonsmith April 26, 2009 at 6:20 PM #

John – looks awesome! I'm going to download and take it for a test drive.

Mar – I would love to see a theme you've created. Post a link when you have a chance.

I'm waiting for a blogger release. I'll be one of the first on the download list.

  10. Justin Samsel April 26, 2009 at 8:58 PM #

    Love it.

The search bar really freaks out when you add one on the sidebar though.. Any fix for that?

    • human3rror April 26, 2009 at 9:01 PM #

you can change the size via css. i'll take a look.

      • Justin Samsel September 14, 2009 at 2:40 AM #

Did you ever find a fix for this? I tried. But I suck. I update my blog that has this theme on a weekly basis and would love to add a search feature.

        • human3rror September 14, 2009 at 3:08 AM #

          Justin,

Haven't had time for it recently… doh!

          • Justin Samsel September 17, 2009 at 4:00 AM #

John, I fixed it. I feel so hardcore right now. CSS hax0r!

  11. Jim April 27, 2009 at 5:15 AM #

    nice work

  12. theschu April 27, 2009 at 6:47 AM #

Looks great! Can't say I'll use it, since I'm currently occupied with Ipseity and Thesis (thanks to you), but I'll be sure to recommend it to my friends!

  13. Andy Darnell April 28, 2009 at 4:32 PM #

John, Do you have a one stop shop for all of your themes? I'd love to look at them all in one place.

    • human3rror April 28, 2009 at 4:47 PM #

that's a good suggestion… but, no. not at this time.

  14. SEO Quang ba web April 28, 2009 at 10:14 PM #

Just downloaded it. Interesting b/c of you set the name I like Content but the design looks like a Photo blog. Thanks anyway,

  15. Lon April 29, 2009 at 2:03 PM #

love it, will definitely be trying it out as well! you rock

  16. Lon April 29, 2009 at 9:51 PM #

anyway we can get a navbar for pages on top of this?

    • human3rror April 29, 2009 at 11:02 PM #

perhaps… i'm looking at the next rev.

    • rvoodoo April 30, 2009 at 3:54 AM #

well…if you don't mind doing just a bit of css tweaking, you can use the dtabs plugin to put a navbar on any theme. I use it rather than coding a menu into my themes……its pretty darn flexible.

  17. Justin Samsel April 29, 2009 at 11:06 PM #

    I'm using it here: http://blog.justinsamsel.com/

Is it just me or does the page render slower than normal while scrolling around? I'm using the latest Firefox. Is it just in my head or does it actually seem slow :P

  18. Paul Wilkinson May 2, 2009 at 2:47 PM #

This might work for me because I also like a wide margin and looks good. I got to where you start the download but then technophobia hit! I just don't want to mess anything up. What happens after I download? Should I have a browser open to my site at the time? (I have eight blogs, and I want it to apply to the main one.) What are the next steps after the download is finished? Check out my site and tell me what you think.

  19. Leon May 4, 2009 at 11:26 AM #

    Looks great! There is one pixel too much padding in the "Submit Comment" button, I think. In the CSS class .comments-form .button you should change the padding to padding: 4px 6px 3px 38px;

  20. Hi, interesting post. I have been wondering about this topic,so thanks for sharing. I’ll definitely be coming back to your site.

  21. Roshan May 7, 2009 at 8:54 AM #

It's really cool. I like it but I think I'll save it for when I buy a nice digicam and start my new photo blog. Really like the theme.

  22. mark May 7, 2009 at 2:33 PM #

i love this clean theme- its ace.

  23. Stian May 7, 2009 at 7:15 PM #

Tried this theme on my Wordpress blog at http://problematisk.net/ (Norwegian), but everything goes blank, and I have to delete the theme to get the blog back up again – upon which it tells me that the theme is broken. I'd really like to use this theme, so any help on this issue would be appreciated.

  24. OFY May 9, 2009 at 10:55 AM #

Thank you . Turkish Versiyon : I Like Contet Theme

  25. Meiko May 11, 2009 at 3:42 PM #

ok, So this may be a stupid and ridiculous question…but how do you install the theme? Can someone help me?

  26. wuzhez May 11, 2009 at 4:12 PM #

    it's beautiful

  27. bolsa online May 12, 2009 at 10:33 AM #

I like it. Clear and simple

  28. willie May 17, 2009 at 3:58 AM #

Is there any way to add a header to this? I love everything about it but a header would make it even better, I cant seem to figure out how to though.

    • human3rror May 17, 2009 at 4:17 AM #

      It's possible with a few tweaks… everything is \”possible\”…

      ;)

  29. willie May 17, 2009 at 5:01 AM #

lol, any suggests on how? I would really appreciate it.

  30. matholemu May 22, 2009 at 10:41 PM #

    Here's my rendition: http://matholemu.com

I included a top navibar & twitter. one note, the image file called for the bullet points was not included in the /images folder.

I spent 4 months searching for the perfect blog design and finally came across this one last week. Love it!

  31. Justin Samsel May 24, 2009 at 4:45 AM #

    Thanks for updating it :)

  32. Anthony Alexander May 29, 2009 at 10:18 PM #

Irony is very effective when the person knows they're using it.

  33. gary s chapman June 7, 2009 at 5:57 PM #

As a photographer I really love this. Is it possible for a user to change the wood-floor background to something else? BTW, i am coming to BC tonight for the meeting and to pick up some photos I had hanging there. Nice work!

    • human3rror June 8, 2009 at 12:23 AM #

of course, you can always change out hte background.

  34. Woodrow Wilson June 15, 2009 at 7:42 AM #

    Very Nice Design.I like it.

  35. human3rror June 15, 2009 at 6:22 AM #

    thanks!

  36. Manufacturer Coupons July 28, 2009 at 2:57 PM #

Awesome Theme! It looks like it's displaying HD Content like HD Video and High Definition Pictures exceptionally well!

  37. Gavin September 9, 2009 at 12:07 PM #

Do you have any themes where I could customize the background? I'm just looking for something simple like this. This is my current theme and it blows: http://www.stillproudclothing.com

  38. Marcelo October 29, 2009 at 1:22 PM #

    Hi John,

I'm using your theme "I Love Content" and I'm loving it! I'm kinda using it to learn more about Wordpress. There's a long way to go, but I'm excited about it. Thank you so much for your generosity in making it available.

Here is where is at: http://marceland.com/blog/

    Obrigado,

    Marcelo

  39. Conrad October 29, 2009 at 5:40 PM #

Great theme, have been trying to create my own page template for full width page without sidebar but cannot find reference to in page.php?

Is there somewhere else I should be looking or an easier way to create custom template with full width page?

so i am starting my first “hosted” website/blog and want this to be my theme. i really like it. i am a first timer on this stuff though, so it may take some time to get it up and running. any helpful tips from you vets?

    • John November 10, 2009 at 9:39 AM #

wordpress.org has a tons of resources. also, wordpress.tv

  41. Jordan November 9, 2009 at 8:28 PM #

So I figured out how to move the “I Like Content” folder into my FTP program. But when I go to my wordpress dashboard, I do see the “I Like Content” theme, but when I click on preview, nothing shows up. Any idea what I messed up?

    • John November 10, 2009 at 9:39 AM #

not sure, i’d have to see a screenshot… wanna hook me up?

I love this theme, I've taken it and edited it a little to work for what I'm doing. The only problem I'm having (and I just posted over on ChurchCrunch about this, then realized to bring it over here) is that I can't get threaded comments to work. I've checked the box under discussion and all that fun stuff.

I think I have the version one of them theme, does version two allow threaded comments? If not I can just use another commenting system like intensedebate. I just like using the wordpress commenting system. Thanks for your help!

you're going to want to get the new standard theme i'm releasing. … it's a billion times better, and you can customize it to look like this one.

Cool, I'll be waiting to check it out! So if I install this new theme, will I have to redo all my design, or can it be similar?
