Ipseity Personal Branding Wordpress Theme

ipseitywordpresstheme1

“Personal Branding” is extremely important in today’s digital economy. Knowing how to effectively manage it is equally important, if not more so.

What most people forget is that the moment you’re born you begin a journey of digital-equity building whether you like it or not. (You can thank your parents for that in some cases…!)

The question is whether you will take control of it… because if you don’t someone else will (or the masses).

I decided that I’d rather manage it instead of the social media landscape that could do whatever they wanted with it, for better or for worse really.

So, I bought JohnSaddington.com (site has changed, link to DEMO below) and just sat on it for awhile, but I wasn’t sure what I should do with it.

It looked like this for a while:

johnsaddington_com_v1

Obviously it couldn’t stay like that. At first I thought I should purchase some ready-made website (like GetNectar.com who was an obvious inspiration but will set you back 200 bucks or so… but they do have some amazing other versions and flavors!) or off-the-shelf app or theme. … Bleh. I knew I could do better for free.

So, I set out to develop a Wordpress theme that would help do that in a creative and attractive way. I wanted something simple, elegant, and super easy to change as my brand changed. I wanted it super light weight, memorable, and had elements that mattered.

I also wanted to make it readily available at no cost to my friends, family, and many others, especially in today’s economy.

I’ve had a lot of friends laid off recently and as they search for jobs and as businesses/recruiters/HR managers review their credentials and use Google to help find the “real” you (hopefully they don’t find the MySpace picture of you half-naked and piss-drunk) wouldn’t it be nice, I thought, if they found YourName.com instead with an attractive and impactful first impression?

Right. You get the picture.

So the Ipseity Personal Branding Wordpress Theme was born.

Ipseity Personal Branding Wordpress Theme

“Ipseity” means selfhood, or individual identity. I couldn’t think of a better name for the theme (and I wanted something original).

It’s powered by Wordpress, it’s super light weight, around 150kb total file size (without background images), only 3 .php files, 1 .css file, and 2 essential .gifs (the arrow keys), and a js folder for the side-scrolling action.

It’s also easily styled with H1/H2/H3 tags and you can add images… heck, you could even make it a photo portfolio with style!

I’ve included a few backgrounds for inspiration as you can see as well as a few screenshots of how to control the styling. It’s pretty simple and straightforward.

Here are some examples:

How To Manage Ipseity

ipseitywordpresstheme11I made it super easy to manage, update, and change.

Each section is just a single blog entry/post.

Yeah, it’s that easy.

I’ve even included “dummy data” for you to import into your Wordpress install so you can get started even faster.

picture-11The following images show you how it all works (there’s not much…).

If you want to add images like the last example, just make sure that they are 940 pixels wide by 600 pixels tall to fit perfectly into the theme.

The theme is pretty strict in terms of width, so I wouldn’t deviate from these dimensions, unless you do something like a much smaller image for a bio image.

Again, you could have an all-image gallery for your personal brand or portfolio.

Mix it up with alternating images and text.

The sky is the limit here.

To manage the actual text, I’m just using H1/H2/H3 tags for the main title and copy below.

The regular “paragraph” text is available to use as well, of course.

ipseitywordpresstheme12

And finally, to change the background, just change the following name of the file in the “images” folder:

Ok. I’m Ready. I Want To Download It!

Here you go. Have fun and tell others!

Please feel free to comment and leave examples of your personal brand site using Ipseity! It’ll help other people visualize what others have done with the theme and the possibilities. Think of it as a community activity.

Again, feel free to leave your thoughts, comments, and “improvements”…! And let me know if you use it! I want to see some kickbutt examples!

  1. Wow…I like the looks of that! I definitely see myself using this in the near future. Looks great.

  2. EpicFaith says:

Thank you my Wordpress Ninja friend. This is EPIC!

  3. rhettsmith says:

    EPIC….best yet….

  4. Help? I soooo need to brand my blog and other social networking for my ministry but I am lost… http://www.cyndysalzmann.wordpress.com.

  5. Eric F says:

Very cool usage of WP – great personal branding theme

  6. theschu says:

I'm so excited to implement this for myself! Thanks for making this happen :)

  7. Thanks, John. I have it set up on blairandress.com, but I have not had any time to tweak it yet. It is absolutely amazing, though!

  8. spencer says:

great stuff. this is a really sexy, smooth theme to use.

i'm wondering also if there's a way to make a specific page be the blog updates. it looks like the one drawback of using this theme is that you lose the having a blog. it'd be cool to include that without making the theme too busy.

also, i'm having some trouble with the link buttons.

  9. Just what I was looking for. THANK YOU!
    http://alleneskelin.com

  10. human3rror says:

blair, looks great! share the love man!

  11. wow this is good stuff
gonna have to give this a go :-)

  12. Hm, unless I'm doing something wrong, I'm having trouble with those js buttons. On a fresh install of WP, I'm not able to get the pages to turn. I even uploaded your dummy content to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong on that front. If you're curious, my site is <a href=”http://stevenjrossi.com.” target=”_blank”>http://stevenjrossi.com. It currently looks a bit like your site, that is, only the first post of your site. I'll keep fooling with it, though.

Edit: Now that I look at it, I noticed that all the links on the page do a weird flashing thing that also makes them unclickable. I tried it in a couple different browsers, and it did the same thing. It's probably some really obvious problem that I'm just overlooking.

Edit 2: I have no idea why the link in this comment to my site won't work.

  13. My Father In Law was looking for me to find a way to do his site. I think this is it. Sheer Genius Brother!

  14. kkcoolj says:

First pass at the Ipseity WP Theme: http://www.kennyjahng.com

Thanks! Now it's time to go trolling for a new background image.

  15. Christina says:

this is way cool. I want one now. But…someone already has my name.com :( It's a furniture company. Now what?!

  16. Bill Bolte says:

    That's awesome. Great job.

  17. kkcoolj says:

Thanks! Finally found a background image I can be happy with for awhile (at least for 24 hours I'd guess). It might be cool to integrate an auto-rotator for backgound images. Throw all images in the folder and have the theme auto pick a random one.

I also added a link to the admin login page to the template so that I can edit without manually typing in the http…./wp-admin/ URL manually.

Also, being the avg. non-reader, I scanned your directions above and assumed the 940px wide specs were for the background image. The 940px is for a photo to be displayed without cropped by the arrows right? And the background is 1440px wide I believe, right?

    This is awesome.

Time to add Google Analytics, SEO plug-in for better url nominclature and…

    • human3rror says:

dude, i dig the background too. that's cool. the background is best as a tiled version… because other monitors might have bigger (or smaller) screen resolutions…

  18. Tyler says:

Me likey! You make a good point about personal branding… I haven't put much effort into, but you've done a great job making it easier to get started. Thanks man!

  19. Awesome! I'll have to use this in the near future. Right now my name points to my children's ministry blog. Thanks for all the sharing of these themes

  20. Is there any way to use this as a front-end for an already-existing blog? I've got a long-standing blog at my domain (jasonclarke.net), and I'd like to leave all the posts there and continue to use it as a regular blog, but it would be fantastic to use Ipseity as a front-end gateway. Does anyone know of a way to move the root of the existing blog to a subfolder (jasonclarke.net/blog/) for example, without messing with the permalinks for existing pages, and then use Ipseity at the root of the site? Or is this idea just silliness?

  21. Spence says:

I was pretty much wondering the same thing!

  22. Brett says:

Be sure to give some props to Nectar for your inpsiration bro http://getnectar.com

  23. I threw some php in there to pull the first post separately from the rest of the posts so that I could apply individual styling to the first post.

Also, I lean towards the SEO camp that holds to one h1 per page, although I'm not too strict about it. For that reason, I applied your h1 styling to the h2's in every post except the first, so that there's consistency in design while the code keeps the important stuff distinguished.

    Just some thoughts for you…

  24. Sam says:

    John,

rockin theme. I love it. Thnanks for sharing.

  25. chriswheat says:

John – can you think of any easy way to pull someones latest tweet and display it? Is it even possible to do that in a post?

  26. Lon says:

very cool, i'll be testing it out!

  27. Christina says:

Welp, I already invested prior to a domain and hosting site for a blog type thing at servantsdiary.com (still in the works)

BUT…you have me some ideas for this free wix flash site I had been working on. http://www.wix.com/resume/christinameyer

I'm no expert but it was fun putting this together. :)

  28. EPIC. Can I set this up as a Page on my site? ( I want to keep my theme/blogs )

    (found via ChurchCrunch)

edit: just read the other comments. yes, something like what they said : )

  29. human3rror says:

yeah, you could do that pretty easily… hmm…

  30. hsojeel says:

    wtg, good hotness.

  31. How do you design most of your… well, designs? Photoshop, straight code, dreamweaver(haha), or what? I'm trying to learn some and wanting to know the best methods.

  32. human3rror says:

I do it while i should be sleeping and lots of caffeine while fighting a migraine in my underpants at 3 in the morning on a friday night.

  33. dave8 says:

help! am i doing something wrong? the first entry is not displayed – just a blank screen. all other entries display fine, but the first one (which appears last in the site, if you get me) is empty. http://davidsharpe.net …….. any idea why? what am i doing wrong?!

  34. dave8 says:

    using firefox 3.0.8 ………

  35. dave8 says:

argh. why can't i see it? (what DID you mean by rev3?) i am using the latest version of your theme. it's very strange.

  36. Brent says:

I've found that using the Custom Post Order Plugin helps in re-arranging posts/pages already written – http://blogs.ubc.ca/support/plugins/custom-post-o...

    Thanks for this great template!

  37. I must be missing something. I downloaded the theme, got it installed. How do I import the "dummy" data?

  38. Loving the theme! It's my first venture into Wordpress too. Thanks for keeping it simple!

    http://brendancosgrove.com

  39. Richard says:

I can't get my left arrow to work the right arrow works.
I've downloaded V3 (4) times and reinstalled it plus uninstalled the theme and reinstalled it over and over.

Love the theme and appreciate the work you've done.

By the way, I just checked it with FireFox Version 3 and both arrows work, But I use Internet Explorer 7 pretty much all the time, and ideals for it working in I E 7…

    Be Blessed, Richard

  40. human3rror says:

Ah. I'll have to take a look into that…

  41. Joel says:

    Great theme! Thank you.

  42. Jeremy says:

    another great theme john.
    digg it! http://digg.com/d1neSy

  43. Cheers! Do you plan to have some licsene on this one+ GPL, or CC?

  44. Richard says:

I pretty much have my site or Gateway to my sites set up, I still have a few changes to make but it is close.
The only thing is that the left arrow button don't work in Internet Explore but will in Fire Fox. I'm going to wait and see if there is a fix for this before I do anymore to it. I noticed that some others wanted to set it up like I have this one set up in earlier messages. All I did was set up wordpress in the root directory and then rename the index.html to something different likr slide.html so that the Ipseity theme would come up when you pull up your site, then point your blog or what ever to the new name, like slide.html or blog.html this way you don't have to create a different directory unless you have many web soted like I do.

    My website is at http://www.whatfolder.com

Hope this helps someone else on here, Richard

  45. I'm using this theme on one of my unused domains right now, thanks.

  46. arm says:

I have a problem… I'm using this theme for company profile. Because this theme using landscape view, so I have very minimal post can be added. I just start adding content, suddenly I see the link for #1 is until #10, how I can expend the page into my desire number..

    thankyou..

  47. human3rror says:

You can do that easily by just changing the “date” on the actual post.

  48. Looks fab! Great work, this screams new website online for me!

  49. Richard says:

I poste a good post but you took it off, why would you do that?

  50. human3rror says:

    what? I didn't delete any comments…?

  51. Susan says:

This is definitely a NEW type of theme. Great work!

  52. Richard says:

I love your theme and really want to use it!
Is there any update on the left arrow button working in Internet Explorer and one other thing It seems that you can only show 10 slides or post, it want show more than that.

    Thanks, Richard

  53. Mike says:

Great theme. tried Beta 003. JS sliders don;t work. Checked the theme and the a href just points the root of the blog. Any ideas. Upgraded to 2.7.1. Does this theme need any additional plugins? Thank you

  54. nelson says:

hi! great great theme you have created!
just one question, what i have to do, for this theme work with categories? is it possible? i tried but it didn't work…

    thanks!

  55. theschu says:

Hey John, I finally got my own ipseity-based blog running (johncschuster.com). Thanks for making this theme. I've been looking everywhere for a way to embed a lifestream on one of the pages, and I thought I would ask you if you know of a way that still follows the form and function of the theme.

    Thanks!

  56. louise says:

this is fantastic. attractive and simple.

  57. I am having trouble with H1/H2/H3…this does not show up when I go to add a post?

  58. zacharyb says:

    Thanks for the awesome template.

I just basically posted the guts so far, but you can see my version at http://www.ZackRiesland.com.

I want to tweak out the content and incorporate some SEO opitmization. This is also sweet because it shows so much of the background image that it can be highly customized.

    Thanks a ton!

  59. Vy Tran says:

Decided to use Ipseity as a photography portfolio. I'll probably change the background and arrows soon.

    http://portfolio.veethirtythree.com/

  60. Chris says:

Hey man. Great theme. I can't get it to work though. The first post shows up fine, but when I hit the next arrow I get nothing (error cannot find page stuff). Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I reinstalled the theme a couple times and even reinstalled wordpress. Nothing. Thanks.

    Here's my site: http://wikicarson.com

  61. Okay… I can't figure out how to change the background… ? where is that code where I change the file name?

  62. Couple of thoughts …

I think it would better if you made it so you can use wordpress pages rather than posts for the content. Also use the page titles for the H1 tags rather than asking the user to format it themselves. Also maybe ad blog functionality back in if one might want it–I understand this would require quite a bit more theme design work but I'm pretty sure a lot of people are gonna want that.

  63. Chris says:

Would it work to use custom fields in the posts to change the background graphic?

  64. Hrmm. I love this theme… But I am having a few issues.
the arrow buttons are not showing up..
Back button doesn't work (Firefox back button) if you've clicked left or right.
what size image do you recommend?

    • Aaron says:

The readme file John provided with the theme has the picture dimenions in it. (I don't know what they are off the top of my head since I'm on a different computer.) You can check there to get the size you need.

And about your buttons, are you using a black background? If so, the buttons are black and transparent so they won't show up. I reversed the colors on my version. You're free to steal them, if you'd like:

      http://www.aaronmelton.com/about/wp-content/theme...
      http://www.aaronmelton.com/about/wp-content/theme...

You'll need to either overwrite your current buttons or save them in the same directory and change the filename in the source file. (All that's assuming that you can't see the button because of a black background.)

BTW, the backspace key won't work because the page scrolls using Java. You're not actually advancing to a new web page when you click the link…

  65. human3rror says:

    Andy,

the blog post should have some dimensions… and make sure you have the right version.

  66. I accidentally changed the settings on my FTP client. for the transfer type. I changed them back and all is good!

    Dang I'm silly.

Thanks for all of the help!

  67. I can seem to get it to work. The home page works but when you click on the arrows it takes you to the url plus the site name. Am I missing something?

  68. Can anyone help me with adding a 404 template? I changed the content when using this theme and I need a 404 file for those searching for that old content.

  69. Tupieta says:

OMG this theme rocks my socks!

I am happy to say I put it to good use. Please check it out! I hope you like it ^_^

  70. Zak White says:

Thanks John. The theme is PERFECT for something I am doing except for that I can't get the arrow buttons that move the content to work?

    Here is the address: http://zakwhite.com/namethischurch

I have tried removing the theme and re-installing manually a few times. Odd. Only thing I've changed is the background image in the .css document.

    Ideas?

  71. Zak White says:

commenting again just so I can subscribe to the thread. failed to do it the first time. :)

  72. Meiko says:

    Hey Jon,

I fell in love with this theme about a month ago. I saved up some money and got myself a hossting site and everything so i could host my wordpress stuff JUST so that i could have this!

    BUT…

Its not going so well for me :( I have spent the last 8 hours trying to figure how to work this and enhance it for my needs. Sadly, i cant get past just getting it to work. When i use the buttons to scroll to the next page, it doesnt work "Page not found". Also, i'd like to be able to use this theme for my blog in general and i have written about 50 blog posts but none of them are able to fit. Is there a way to expand this? I desperately need help. Coming here to ask you was my last resort because i know you are busy but…help a brotha out!

    word.

  73. tupieta says:

Hey I'm using your theme here! http://tupieta.com

    I <3 you.

  74. billy says:

I know I'm late to the party but seriously… This theme is great. By far one of the best freely available ones I've seen in a while.

You need to take a look at your comments though. Page 6 + Paris Hilton and a certain tape. I'm pretty sure that doesn't belong.

  75. Aaron says:

    haha!

Now it's my turn: You got owned. :P

  76. Zoeyjane says:

I have a question about adding pages into the template: how would I go about removing the slider function for them? I'm assuming that I need to create a page.php file from the index.php and remove the slider calls, but I'm pretty unfamiliar with php. Help, please?

  77. chrissulli says:

The left arrow on mine isn't showing up. The image is in the folder and the right arrow is working. http://www.chrissulli.com/about

  78. human3rror says:

Hmm. I wonder if that the linkage is broken on the template… hmm.

  79. chrissulli says:

Nevermind. Deleted the png and reupped it. Working now.

  80. Hrm. Any reason I can only have 10 posts? Trying to work on this project, I've made 13 'posts' and published them. It rotates back to the first page after the tenth…

  81. human3rror says:

Not pages… Posts! If u need more help, goto churchcrunch.com/forums

—ECGSorry for the brevity and rampant spelling errors… This was obviously \”Sent from my iPhone\”.

  82. human3rror says:

make sure in your settings it's showing posts (reading)… not pages. should be fine from there.

  83. Eddie says:

that's got it. many many thanks.

  84. billy says:

Thanks again for this great theme. I'm using now on a website for a local non-profit preschool. It doesn't have much info on it yet because I'm still waiting back to hear exactly what content they want, but so far so good. THANKS!

  85. This is exactly what I have been looking for! Thank You for sharing your amazing wordpress hack-magic!!! http://www.clyderandall.com/

  86. clayhebert says:

(also posted on Church Crunch forums)

I love the Ipseity Wordpress theme and have it deployed on two sites.

Everything is working great but the arrow nav buttons aren't working in IE6 or IE7.

The sites are http://www.clayhebert.com and http://www.tribeswin.com. Working great in Firefox and Safari.

If you need me to create you an admin account, I'm happy to.

    • human3rror says:

Cool. I'll take a look. i'm not a big IE fan, so, i'm not sure I'd make it work for IE6 anyways.

      :)

      • clayhebert says:

Thanks, John. I agree completely – I don't use IE anymore either and I'm not a big fan. That's why I didn't even notice it for a few weeks. Someone told me.

The only reason I care is because corporate clients might find me via the site and IE still dominates a lot of corporate environments.

I'll email you an admin login, in case you want it.

  87. hüseyin says:

this is excellent and so simple.
    also simplicity is the best.

    thank you.

  88. Sporting the Ipseity theme over here: http://DrSteveBradley.com

Seems to be working great! Will give you some link love on twitter as well. Thanks John.

  89. Carl says:

I am having problems with the scroller buttons to, they just not scrolling through the posts.

I have removed all plugins so they are not conflicting with the javascript.

I have reinstalled the theme, running the latest wordpress.

I only have posts no pages.

  90. mr shirley says:

hi, the scrolling buttons don't seem to work on internet explorer. please could you advise?

  91. ad says:

    Thanks for that fantastic theme.

BTW: What about killing those spam here in the comments? Or do you like that kind of input? ;)

  92. Thanks for that wonderful theme. I use it here: http://www.admartinator.de

  93. Jay F. Kay says:

    Hi there,

thank you for this really great wordpress theme. I love it!

I’ve got a little question about the site rotating from this pics on the top of this page. How does this rotation work? Is there any code to add the theme? Thanks for help… :-)

    CU, Jay

  94. First off, thanks for the awesome theme. It really is incredible.

I’m having a problem with it though. I’ve got an embedded youtube clip left aligned on my second post. On about half the computers I try it on, it’s bleeding over onto the first post. Any ideas how to stop this?

  95. Odin says:

    Very nice theme.
I install the theme but, i have seruis problems with Internet Explorer 7, i don’t use that, but my boss yes and he say, hey! don’t work!.

The arrows don’t work (both) and the is very very big.

http://www.odinsandoval.com please see in explorer in firefox works fine

some body knows how to fixit thanks.

  96. 2 simple updates for Ipseity theme.

    1. On lines 40,42 of of the theme's style.css this appears:
    "position: left;"
This is invalid CSS. The fix is just to delete this. It doesn't change the appearance, but it makes it fail CSS validation.

    2. Inside the theme's header.php:
    <script src="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/js/swfobject.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

But the theme doesn't include any Shockwave Flash, so this should be deleted for quicker load times.

  97. A suggested update to the Ipseity theme's style.css. Add this:
    div#mid { margin-left: 80px; }

Without this change, … when you resize your browser window (and make it narrow)
the post displayed in the middle slides underneath the left arrow.

This small change fixes that problem.

  98. hmmm only seems to do three posts… all earlier posts seem nonexistent in the site… lovely themes you make btw!

  99. disregard my previous post. I figured it out… dumb "reading" setting haha

  100. Nathan says:

Any suggestion on how/if this could translate to a mobile device (particularly in the iPhone/Android class)?

  101. Kun says:

Fantastic theme, I’ve installed it and configured it on my personal site: http://www.kunonline.com – I’ve also found that Twitter integrates well with the theme as well.

However, is there anyway I can configure it to display individual URL’s and page titles? Thanks

  102. Nathan says:

    EEEK!

Great Theme – but I just broke it:
Any idea what I did to make my navigation buttons always take me to the same page? (would changing my permalink settings do this?)

First of all; great theme!! Absolutely loving it…
However that makes it even more frustrating that I can’t get it to work in IE8 :( My site is running perfect in FireFox though. I’ve tried several URL’s from the comments above that are also running your theme, they al work great in IE8:
http://johnsaddington.com , http://kennyjahng.com , http://portfolio.veethirtythree.com . But if I open my site (http://www.vanarjen.nl) it shows up a little distorted and the arrows won’t work (the URL is changing to #2, #3 etc. but noting happens in the site).

I’ve disabled all plug-ins, and have changed nothing in the code except for adding my name in the copyright notice in the footer. I have downloaded your latest version (V3).

Please help, I really would like this theme to work! Thanks, Arjen

I have a friend I’ve known since college and he’s a heavy weekend drinker and is constantly posting his pictures on social media sites..he’s yet to learn..

but yeah, I love this theme…I’ve been sitting on my name, I actually took my site down, but having owned my name as a domain is actually what help me get my current job.

thanks for the simple but very effective theme.

  105. Very nice theme, I might foresee myself using it as portfolio or somekind introduction to myself someday. I’m interested on those lovely icons that hover right side of this page, is that addon or your own work? Id love to have similar as currently I have only ugly twitter bar there.

i suffer the same problem as reported elsewhere of the javascript seemingly failing to scroll to each post. i ve tried reinstalling the theme and even different versions of wordpress but it seems each time i add a post or modify the dummay data it breaks the functionality of the left/right scroll functions. is this tested ok with v2.9 of wordpress. does the date of the original posts have an impact on the sequence of the scroll of the posts. ive even tried suggested plugins on this thread to rearrange posts but i cannot fathom it.

how did other users overcome the lack of horizontal scroll???

    Thanx for the informations!

Great theme – I downloaded it though, and added it to wordpress but it says the stylesheet is missing??

  109. Hey, I’m still using version .001 on one of my sites. Is there a way to easily upgrade to .003 without losing all my tweaks and settings? Also, is there a way to add a constant header as a banner or text?

  110. Hey, two questions…
    1. I’m still using version .001. Is there a way I can upgrade to .003 without losing my customizations and tweaks?

    2. Is there a way to add a constant header to the theme in the form of either a banner or text?

Hey John, great job here. If you can spare 2 mins, I don ‘t seem to be able to get the posts to display at the middle of the page. If you check the link, the entries are right at the very top. I had a look at the .css on your demo page and compared it with mine, they seem to report the same values.

What’s your view on this? Thanks!

Wow, that's really weird. Did you cahnge anything in your posts themselves?

      • Matteo says:

        Hey John,
No, not really. Posts are Uncategorized, without tags. Structure is (as you suggested) h2, h3 and then p. Also the theme files were left unchanged (except for my name in the footer but that’s clearly not the issue here…).

You see, the arrows are where they should be, so it must be something with the posts. But, b checking the source code on the live website, it does match yours… weird

      • Matteo says:

Actually, my bad. It now works. I had not noticed that the title of the post does not display on the live page. Therefore my post started with an h2 rather than h1 (which I originally thought would have been inserted with the title).

  112. Awesome theme! I just set it up at my personal site, http://philipithomas.com
Everything went smoothly and I am happy with the results. I am just having two minor problems: First, I cannot change the link over color to my desired color- it seems to default to a dark gray. I got it working in the footer, but not in the body text. Second, when I load the page in Safari and Chrome, the area below my footer shows up as a white box. Is there a way to fix either of these issues?
Thanks for releasing such a great theme!

  113. Aaron says:

Don't use Picasa to host your pictures for your site; Leave them on your website.

Not knowing what's going on with that server (which I verified is down right now), it might have something to do with these images not displaying correctly (or not). My final suggestion at this point is when the server comes back up to save these images as jpegs and replace the png link in the code with the new file name and see what happens. (Although using Picasa seems to indicate the problem is with your server and not your browser, etc.)

  114. Thanks!

Yeah, I went ahead and tried the .Jpg thing before I came here. (Shoulda mentioned that too) DIdn't work.. Maybe when the site comes back up, we'll be golden.. Maybe. ;) I imagine we'll find out soon if that works or not. If not, I can easily submit a ticket. I had noticed earlier on another part of my site *.gif image wasn't showing up. perhaps this is all related.

  115. yah, I put in a support ticket… Will update when I hear something.
