Korea – Day 3 – Reality TV Stars Are Born

We registered, signed our “release forms” just in case of death or accidental dismemberment (that’s such a strange word…), and then met Mr. Lee, who’s a film producer with KBS, one of the largest Korean Broadcasting units here.
… Rockstar status in the making. More thoughts of stardom (and the vids!) after the jump…
They’ll be following us around for the next 3 or 4 days to document this historic event in our lives. Apologize for the next few videos… I attempted to do some great “Windows Movie Maker” magic… but “windoze” does not like widescreen HD format. Doh! And I did not bring my mac book pro… Epic Fail. SORRY!

I’m honestly not too sure what to think about this. One side is telling me that it’s “cool” and that it’ll help educate more people about adoption and give it some much needed airtime on TV. I think that’s awesome.
The other is that it’s just straight-up “uncool” because it feels like someone’s invading my privacy… and sheesh, I really don’t even have an option here! These guys are going to document, for some, the most emotional moment of their entire lives…!
What do you guys think?
In any case, Mr. Lee’s pretty cool. w00t.

I think you can now say "Haven't heard of me? Well, I'm huge in Korea"
Could be a great way to talk about your faith there… but it's a hard decision either way… I mean, it's not LA Ink
They're in SOUTH Korea right?
Can't wait to wake up every morning and see what you have posted!! My 10 and 8 yr old adoptees are watching too!! I DO think it is an invasion of your privacy BUT selfishly I can't wait to experience it with you. Just wondering…will they(and you) be taping when you first see your birthmom? and will she be aware of this? Praying for you…
yes yes.. definitely South. it's very hard to get into North Korea and even if they did, you'd only see videos of abandoned buildings and soldiers everywhere. and the "documentary" would be more like "anti-american propaganda."
anyway john, you have to stop posting such interesting stuff. tis very hard to leave the computer! maybe i should just blame Los.
haha. yes, most def. i could use some ragamuffinsoul goodness right about now…
thanks!!! you're the only "family" member that comments. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
i hoping bad that i'll get all copies of stuff they print/release.
how'd you beat me….
yes, please blame-shift. kthxbai.
i'm really not sure how "aware" she is of all the media attention… i'm going to do my best to document everything… but unsure of how "emotional" it may get. working thru those decisions as we speak!
that's just how i roll.
liking da roll.
so here it goes! im getting excited and nervous from here! will the camera be rolling every moment as they follow you guys?
The way I see it, you're documenting this anyway, right? This way, you get a unique opportunity to see it from another point of view; through a different set of eyes. Invasion at first, but in the long run, I imagine that it will be an awesome addition to your journey.
Like people have said, I think it gives you another point of view to watch but you can also be as honest as you want so Koreans who are watching can see that you and brother turned out very well. I know that you probably want some/most of your feelings to be private but it could be a great blessing to share with the country…I look at you guys, my cousin's baby, Toby Dawson (the snowboarder)…events happen for a reason (ie God). Keep us posted.
thanks chris! we have little choice… but, it is what it is.
