My Journey into DSLR Starts With…

canonrebelt1i

… The Canon EOS Rebel T1i. All you Nikon fans can go cry me a river.

Just kidding.

Thanks soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for everyone’s input and suggestions! I would venture to say that it was evenly split down the middle in terms of choosing between Canon and Nikon. That’s pretty neat.

(But there are some serious fanatics out there, on both sides.)

I’m excited to learn how to use this thing; what’s so sad is that I actually had to look in the manual to figure out how to shoot video. That never happens. I never ever look in the manual, but apparently this is a little more complex.

I need to trade some website skills for DSLR training… any takers?

I can’t wait to start doing stuff like this:

John john john. Sometimes your ignorance astounds even me. Of all the lame-sauce moves. I only have one question, assuming you have two brain cells left to rub together and generate an answer, and it is this….

When can I come over and play with your new toy?

oh and – is the Ti Rebel limited to 720p or can it do the full 1080p?

      • human3rror August 19, 2009 at 11:54 AM #

        it can do 1080p.

        • gsm1 August 19, 2009 at 4:44 PM #

With the Canon Rebel T1i / EOS 500D you can record 1080p HD movie files at 20 frames per sec (fps) or 720p HD movies at 30 fps complete with audio recording. Maximum recording time in 1080p HD is 18 min clips, and 12 min clips in 720p.

Can't wait to live vicariously through you! I've been trying to figure out how to get one of these but guitars and pedals keep getting in the way as well as 2 needy kiddos! HAHAHA. My Canon digital camera's been super but man to get a DSLR would be super uber fun!

Just realized my RSS feed broke, so I'm a little behind…
Have fun playing with your new toy and let me know if I can help! Be careful, though, it's addicting! :)
