Who Would Jesus Smack Down?

Who would Jesus Smack Down? Read this article and you may get a clue. I’m not suggesting that I agree with what is written here or the person that it’s written about… I’m just posing the simple question:

“Who Would Jesus Smack Down?”

So… who? And don’t say satan. That’s a given.

Spending Diary Just Might Work…

spending_diary

My pastor, Andy Stanley, is knocking it out of the park with his new series “Balanced”. It’s rocking my face bad… and getting me super psyched about getting out of debt and getting “balanced” with my finances.

Although they have some great material to document one’s spending, I’ve been looking for a good web app, since… well… that’s what I do. I do internets.

And, I think I found one.

Super simple, SpendingDiary.com tracks the day, the category, the thing purchased, and the price all in a simple and intuitive management system. I like simple so I like this.

Are you being challenged to “balance” your finances this year? Is one of your goals to get out of debt? It’ll be a great day when I’m finally “free”…!

Dysfunctional: An Apology

walking_the_plank

It has been brought to my attention that I have both offended and hurt a number of people with some of the content that was posted here on this blog.

For that, I am deeply apologetic.

There is an understood cost that is associated with blogging, one that I’m willing to risk and take but not at the expense of my brothers and sisters.

Yes, blogging, generally speaking, is offensive. Yes, there is a consistent culture clash with those that “live” in this world and those that do not. Yes, feelings do get hurt: It’s undeniable power of appearing authentic, genuine, and transparent must be met with humility, grace, and wisdom. I, at times, have not shown the latter.

I have begun the process of making recompense and have already engaged and discussed the matter with the people that have direct authority over me and those that love and care for me. I will do my part to meet with all the rest whom it has affected.

But there are a few that I would humbly submit and request that you engage me, because I’m not aware of everyone and their feelings and I don’t know how many times it’s been passed around and how far it’s gone down the internet bunny trail. If you do, I will guarantee you that I’ll respond in a manner beffiting the greater calling that God has in my life.

All this has been a necessary educational experience for me. I appreciate the honesty, the feedback, the rebuke and correction, and the restorative power that Christ has in our lives.

I’m simply too dysfunctional to do it on my own and it’s been made clear that if I try I will fail.

Thanks in advance for all the grace that’s been given to me thus far; I’m going to need a whole lot more.

How Thieves Steal Your Credit Card at the ATM

My mother is awesome. She sends me emails about how to do this and do that and to stay away from this and that and how to cook food and how to buy groceries and tons of other stuff.

I liked this one enough to blog about it. Don’t get jacked foo!
