Had an opportunity to play an old classic with my daughter this week and I realized a few things:
- The game was “cooler” in my head than it actually is.
- Putting it together was extremely frustrating. I’m surprised I didn’t remember how frustrating this process was…!
- Concept is neat but execution is terrible.
- Why hasn’t someone created an updated version of this game with better technology, cooler contraptions, and most consistent game-play experience?
- The age restrictions/requirements are legit. My 4-year old daughter was not ready to play this game.
- The satisfaction of capturing the mouse at the end is somewhat muted because of the laborious task of putting it together.
- Mouse Trap still kicks butt.
I’ve captured some images with my camera for posterity though, because who knows how much longer this game will be on store shelves.
