Prepare to Fall In Love – Adamo by Dell

adamobydell

I must say, the new Adamo laptop by Dell is pretty slick looking. But the website is even better.

I hope, for their sake, this product puts them back on the map in terms of style, design, and brand awareness… because, hey I used to work for these guys…!

It’s funny, because when I first arrived we had a brand new CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) who’s #1 goal was to create “Brand Lust”… Apparently, Michael Dell didn’t see fit to keep him and did it without him.

Order a Onyx one here or a Pearl one here!

No, I was not paid for this blog post. I’d love to review one though…! *hint* *hint*.

I guess I am not the target market. I have a 2 year old M1330 that has better specs (not an SSD though). And for portability I have a mini9. Neither will give me close to the battery life of the Adamo but I have a backup battery for the M1330 so I can get about 5 hours between my two batteries. It is very thin, but my M1330 is more than twice as thick and the M1330 only weights .2 lbs more. I think the Adamo is is too boxy, I would like a bit more rounded lines.

Basically I think that this and the Macbook Air are just REALLY expensive netbooks. I got my mini 9 for less than $300. So no comparison. (Although if someone wanted to give me one since they sort of named it after me I wouldn't turn them down.)

This is Dell's answer to the all mighty Apple… Dells are nice… but nothing compares to the Apple. I love my mac book. –Anna

I'll give you a review… Crazy slow processors, abysmal hard drive size, no included optical drive, a horrific operating system, out of control price, generally bad specs all around. But good marketing campaign. Buy one of these, and that's what you'll be paying for… marketing. I think MacBooks have these beat in just about every way possible. But at least Dell's trying.

i think that it would be a smarter move on their part to let you and one of your faithful readers both review one. it'd be a nice give-away (to me, of course)…
