Religion a Product of Evolution?

Supposedly, someone’s taken another stab at creating a software program to distill “religion” into a logical pattern and code architecture.  Put a box on and around God, perhaps.

The biggest issue I have with the article (as it relates directly to Christianity… and this article doesn’t speak directly to it… but hey, I will!) is that Christianity isn’t a religion.  It can be partly understood, as such, but it is intrinsically not a religion.

This, of course, begs the question “So how do you define religion as it relates to Christianity?”

Religion is a man-developed, man-centric, purposed-for-man structure of values, beliefs, pragmatic applications and hiearchical constructs.

Christianity is the Gospel-driven, God-centric, Spirit-led message of the One True Hope for all of mankind, which is Christ crucifixion and resurrection.

So, go nuts with the programming!  I enjoy it, and there’s nothing wrong with the attempt at “distilling religious belief into a genetic predisposition to pass along unverifiable information.”  But the software’s application can only go so far!
