Stop Child Sex Trafficking – 09.09.09
Did you know that Atlanta (where I live) is one of the top sex trafficking cities in the United States?
Insanity.
I had no idea until someone told me and opened my eyes to the great sadness of it all and it literally breaks my heart. Hearing stories of young girls sold into sexual slavery and prostitution (even by their own fathers) is hellish.
So when a friend keyed me into a simple initiative to raise funds on September 9th of this year (09.09.09) to raise 81,000 dollars against Child Sex Trafficking I said “Count me in.”
All it takes is a donation of $9.00 bucks. Click here to help. I’d also encourage you to pray about this issue if you feel lead to do so and please tell others.
God, what a terrible world we live in; help us to do our part to leave it in better shape than when we first arrived.

I did also want to encourage you to look on the internet if this issue touches your heart. The statistic is actually higher than 20 million. It is closer to 27million. If you google 27 million the first things that come up are about slavery. you can visit:

I wanted to give a little link love to a thing my sister started.
It is called scarlet cord ministries (found here: scarletcordministries.wordpresss.com)
She is working with girls in Nicaragua and is partnering in adopt a prostitute. What she has done is connect girls in the united states to girls in the prostitution and sex trade business. She sets them up to be pen pals and offer support to each other.
The coolest thing about this ministry is that she is 15 and is a sophomore in high school. What i live about it the most is that she is connecting girls at her high school with the ministry. Most of these girls are not christians at all, and to be honest (in her words here) they are pretty sexually active already. This is opening their eyes and helping them with a tangible example of being Jesus to others.
I would love to flood her site with traffic to give her some encouragement and some love.

You're right about the figure of 27 million. More than a million of them are kids. They're lured into modern-day slavery and raped for profit 30 or 40 times a night—night after night. Some of them are just 4 years old. Many are right in the U.S.
Most kids are lured into sex slavery because they don’t know the deceptive tactics of traffickers. What if we could warn children and their parents ahead of time? What if we could teach them about the lies traffickers use—and how to stand up against them? The rate of trafficking would drop and millions of kids would never enter the dark world of trafficking.
