The “Human3rror Hearts U” Blog Hosting Discount!

It’s pretty simple really. I like blogging. I think everyone should do it. I think there is so much potential in doing great things through blogs, not just on them.
So, I’ve come up with an easy way for anyone who wants to jump into the cool and refreshing waters of hosting their own blog [WordPress is the best!] but that think it might “break the bank.”
It’s what I affectionately call the “Human3rror Hearts U!” Blog Hosting Discount, via Dreamhost.com.
All you have to do is use the promo code human3rror when you sign up!
It’s just $2.25 per month, if you do the quick math. That’s like a Grande Drip Coffee from Starbucks.
So, let me know if you jump in! The promo code will last forever (and what I mean by that is that I won’t ever remove the code so it’s available to you… but, the $2.25 per month rate is only good for the first year or however many years you sign up for). So, let others know about it.
Why Dreamhost?
I’ll admit it. No hosting service is perfect. Dreamhost isn’t perfect. Trust me, I know. But neither are the 20 others that I’ve tried.
But, with Dreamhost, it’s super easy to get a blog installed and running, the back admin control panel is one of the easiest to understand and navigate, and not a single client that I’ve ever worked with has complained about being “confused” about management in the back end.
And now it’s not too pricey either… and I like the name.
Finally, of course, I recommend it because I actually use it.
I use it for some of my “other” personal projects on the web. When many of them “mature” and out grow Dreamhost, I move them over to something else (and when I mean “outgrow” the projects that migrate are typically averaging 1-3 million pageviews a year).
You won’t have that problem for a little while…

Human Error, been following you and enjoy your stuff. Saw your work for Michael Hyatt. Off the chain. I am thinking really hard about moving from Typepad to WordPress. I am certain it won't be as intense as Michael Hyatt's move. What would I need to do? Could I use your expert services?
niceeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
this is a no brainer
Thanks John
Um… that is totally awesome! I was wondering what I was going to do when my hosting expires later in July because my current hosting cost was going to go up. I will definitely be switching over in July! You said the discount was going to be around "forever"? right?
You rock. I seriously think I'm gonna do this. I wonder if anyone owns amandasims.com….. hmmm…
You rock. I seriously think I'm gonna do this. I wonder if I can get some version of chezcrazy.somethingorother.
Dang it. I already paid for a year of bluehost.
Wow. do they take payments via PayPal or something? I'm not in the US does that count against me?
yes.
Yes. they do.
Yay!
thanks~!
Perhaps we should chat…! shoot me an email.
Ok. SO I did it. And now I'm going to try to figure out downloading WP and installing and all that stuff I've never had to do before with free blogging sites. Pray that I don't lose what little sanity I have left.
There should be a 1-click install in dreamhost….!
if i knew how to move hosts without messing everyone up, i would do this. in a heartbeat!

I want to have a WP blog and my own domain, but have no graphic design capabilities to make it look good! Any advice for the amateur?
OH! Awesomeness! (Sorry I'm such a n00b. Geesh.)
doesn't need to be “fancy schmansy”… find a good theme and build some good content. a good image is as good of a “logo” as anything…!
its been going fine… hasn't been too crazy yet.
Woot! Epic.
so if i set up a blog how do i get people to read them like outside of my circle of friends?
word!
you become “one” with the internet.
Now that everyone else is jumping over there, what kinda problems are we gonna have with speed?
SUCCESS! I did it – and even installed IntenseDebate. Now I need to figure out how to install themes… Oh well, one step at a time!

I'm in. Will be getting off the wordpress.com soon. Was going to do it on a work server soon anyway. This means I don't have to bug around with IIS. Thanks. 3000 yet?
Perfect
You may have convinced me. Need to commit to some blog decisions before I switch over.
cool! let me know what happens!
puahha. it's coming…!
EY! i have a question for you! i am working on a website and have NO CLUE about php but am learning. i know that you created ragamuffinsoul's blog and i really like how you guys placed that single twitter update into the header.
can you tell me what the code is to get that blasted thing up there? i have tried everything but it always ends up on the bottom of the header and i want it in the blank space. http://www.toccoaspot.org you'll see what i'm talking about. you're my last resort…i usually figure these things out but i'm stuck and on a deadline.
thanks
I don't see it…?
well i went ahead and deleted the code i had but i want it to the right of the logo essentially where you placed it on ragamuffinsoul's.
Some great plugins and code out there. i go straight to the API.
i hate it but i don't know what it means to go straight to the api. will this let me place the update where i want?
I make a request from twitter via their “application programming interface.” there some widgets and plugins though…
yeah i have found the plugins, the issue is getting the update to position itself where i want it instead of right at the bottom of the header. i don't know what php script would make the update go in the middle of the right hand section rather than on the bottom of the right hand section…
probably have to jump in some CSS to style it appropriately…!
Nice job John.
word up!
I've been meaning to get my wife's blog self-hosted. I think this is the answer…
SWEET!
hi im trying to use the promo code but it wont go through, what can i do?
“human3rror”?
sweet deal man! I think you sold me on switching from a wp.com site to go with my own domain and open the door to options on my own site.
SWEET! let me know when it's up!
How do your projects outgrow Dreamhost if it's unlimited bandwidth and space?
because it's still on a shared platform. so, speed of procesing and ability to handle lots of traffic at the same time.
…which is exactly why I'm moving my blog. It's down-right
ridiculous at times. Oh, and if I want to add a photo…
forgetaboutit.
not funny
sorry…
I'm in; So you earned your commission.
