This is The Hardcore

This person plays video games like nobody’s business. He is so hardcore, that it’s actually unattractive to me, which is hard to fathom since I’m a gamer-nerd-extraordinaire.
He’s got 11 computers running 36 instances of the video game World of Warcraft. He spends nearly $6,000 dollars a year for subscription fees to play the game.
But, before you say anything like “that’s insane” or “what a loser” or “how could anyone do that” or “what a waste of money”… just think for a second: How much do you spend a year on your hobbies? Honestly. Do a quick gutcheck.
But, it’s still pretty insane.

Incredible! I don't know if I'm more amazed by all the monitors or that he's running all of those instances on Dell laptops and was able to take a picture without having one freeze up and show a blue screen of death!
On a seperate note – I figure he probably spends $500 a month in fees. That's not to bad – I figure my wife and I spend probably close to that for cable, eating out, dating and our hobbies.
haha. i'm sure he does get some screen-o-blue… and thanks for your honesty about your spending.. seriously!
whoa.
I was inspired by our “battle stories” yesterday…
dang! thanks. i think.
I wonder what it would be like to have that many Bibles?
I once paid $1,000 for a pool stick . . . .
Snowboarding sets me back a pretty penny every winter so I cannot judge.
My only question for him is how much he pays for air conditioning? It has to be hot in there.
a “g” for a pool stick? are you pro or something?
haha. np.
oh man.. snowboarding… i haven't done that in a long time but love it.
and good call on the AC bill… i bet it's a sweat shop in there. and what about the noise…!
Wow, I had not thought about the noise. I bet if the power goes out he must go crazy. There would be no background noise for a while.
yes. and yes.
Wow, that is a pretty neat setup! I remember when I was addicted to Ultima Online….not a good place to be!
I spend a lot of money on PENS….I love pens….well artist supplies in general….but PENS in particular.
My most recent purchase was about $250 on a set of illustration markers. – definately worth it though!
wow, that's is hardcore. you are the first person i've ever met to buy $250 dollars of markers. i'm thinking crayola…?
